Below, we explore the net worth of David Horovitch and introduce his most prominent roles.

What is the net worth of David Horovitch?

As a British actor, David Horovitch has accumulated most of his net worth as a result of the various roles that he has held in TV, film, and theatre throughout his long and impressive career to date.

After graduating from drama school, Horovitch began his acting career in 1970.

His first roles were in the theatre, which saw him act in various classical roles, many of which were Shakespearean plays at different locations in the UK.

His first role in TV came in 1970 when he played Kurt in a TV series called Manhunt.

While he went on to portray multiple characters in TV shows throughout the seventies, his biggest roles included that of Richard Roper in six episodes of Emmerdale between 1977 and 1978 and his portrayal of Lt. Col. Lake in the 1979 TV miniseries Prince Regent.

As the eighties rolled in, Horovitch continued his work in TV and was cast in a wide variety of roles.

He starred in 21 episodes of Bognor as the titular character between 1981 – 82.

The comedy-drama followed the story of a bumbling, accident-prone investigator for the Department of Trade and was well-received by British audiences.

In the mid-eighties, Horovitch landed the role that many of his fans know him for today – that of Detective Inspector Slack in Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple.

He played the role of the detective in the 1984 TV mini-series, the 1986 movie The Murder at the Vicarage, and the 1987 TV movie 4.50 from Paddington.

Reflecting on his appearances in Miss Marple, Horovitch said:

“It was fantastic. We had two or maybe even three weeks of rehearsal on Miss Marple before we got out onto location. So, for one thing, you would meet the other actors and work with them, and in those days, you would quite happily have a couple of pints in the pub at lunchtime and then go back to work ever so slightly pissed in the afternoon.”

Horovitch rounded off the eighties with high-profile roles in Vanity Fair, Bergerac, and Piece of Cake, which all did well on British terrestrial TV.

In the early nineties, Horovitch once again picked up his portrayal of Superintendent Slack in Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple.

He starred in the TV movie They Do it With Mirrors and The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side.

He also landed recurring roles in Westbeach, Just William, Ivanhoe, and The Bill, the latter of which he played multiple characters over a seven-year period.

Although Horovitch is undoubtedly better known for his roles on TV than his appearances in film, he does have some impressive movie credits to his name throughout his career. For instance, he appeared in Solomon and Gaenor, One of the Hollywood Ten, and 102 Dalmations at the turn of the century.

Horovitch continued with his impressive TV career in the early 2000s, appearing in Peak Practice, Foyle’s War, Midsomer Murders, and Casualty, among other popular British shows. After a short break, he returned to screens in 2014, appearing in the TV mini-series The Assets.

David also portrayed Dr. Price in the critically acclaimed movie Mr. Turner, which aired in the same year. Exploring the life of the great British painter JMW Turner, the movie starred Timothy Spall and Paul Jesson and was popular in the UK and the US.

Horovitch was also offered the chance to explore his classical roots, playing the roles of Holofernes and Leonato in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s productions of Love’s Labour Lost and Love’s Labour Won in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

In 2021, it was announced that Horovitch would play Grand Master Mellos in the eagerly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. The series premiered in 2022.

As a result of his hugely impressive career credits and long and distinguished career, British actor David Horovitch has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
