Find out how to log out of Fortnite on your own Nintendo Switch system when you want to play on a new account or user.

Every platform that you can play Fortnite on, which is nearly all of them, will have its own set of steps to log out of an account. For the Nintendo Switch, it can be confusing when you want to play on a different account, but the process is simple once you know what you're doing.
PC happens to be the easiest platform to log out of because it's simply based on a username and password tied to the Epic Games launcher. But consoles happen to have their own log-out processes due to linking both the Epic Games accounts and the console accounts. In this guide, we'll go over how you can log out of Fortnite on Switch and how you can enter through a new user.
Signing Out of Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch
When you use a console for Fortnite, you will likely link your Epic Games account to the given console at some point in time. This ensures that all of your progress and skins are carried over from one platform to another. It also makes tracking stats far easier.
When you want to sign out though, you'll need to go beyond simply logging out of your Fortnite account. Because only one Epic Games account can be linked to a given console account, there is no real way to sign into a new user profile in a traditional sense.
Instead, it's far easier to make a new user on your Nintendo Switch and sign into that account. Once you're logged into a new user, you can jump into Fortnite and link the console to a separate Epic Games log-in. Now your friends can easily jump into their profile when they need to.
Unlinking Your Epic Games Account From the Nintendo Switch
For those who don't want to go through the additional hassle of a separate account, you can unlike your Epic Games account from the Nintendo Switch. This should be done sparingly, but if the time comes when you need a new account, the option exists.
Below you can find all of the steps for linking or unlinking an account:
- Head over to the Epic Games website through this link.
- Choose your desired platform log-in, which in this case is the Nintendo Switch
- If you haven't signed in before, you'll need to confirm your new info before entering.
- Next, choose the 'Connected Accounts' option on the left side of the screen.
- Here you can either link or unlink your console to the Epic Games account.
And that's all there is to sign out of your Fortnite account on the Nintendo Switch.
