OverActive Media’s Call of Duty League team Toronto Ultra has announced the team will host its first Home Series weekend at the Mattamy Athletic Centre ice rink, the former home of the city’s NHL franchise, the Toronto Maple Leafs. The venue will also serve as the team’s home venue throughout the inaugural season.

The move to the new location is a big one for the Toronto-based Call of Duty League team as the venue has a capacity of 3,850, allowing the team to host a much bigger crowd than ever before in northwest Toronto and put on a spectacular event for fans.

Alongside the news of moving to Mattamy Athletic Centre, Ultra also announced that Canadian communications company Bell will serve as the presenting partner for the team’s Home Series and the entire inaugural season. OverActive Media and Bell officially announced a strategic partnership in June of this year, but it was only revealed that Bell would acquire a minority interest in the organization at the time.

President and CEO of OverActive Media Chris Overholt said the new deal is a significant moment” for the team’s global esports and entertainment organization and hopes the new deal will “put Toronto on the esports map.”

The CDL season kicks off in January and each CDL team is expected to host a series of matches in their respective home venues during the upcoming season with the first home series will be kicked off Minnesota Røkkr. Ultra will host Atlanta FaZe, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, London Royal Ravens, Paris Legion, and New York Subliners.

Early access tickets for Toronto Ultra’s home series events will be available for purchase beginning on November 27th and will start at $49 with a meet-and-greet package available for $105. Toronto Ultra’s home series events will take place on March 21 and 22, as well as July 18 and 19, with both events featuring team and partner activations.
