D&D 5E - Mold Earth + Dust Devil Sinergy. Is it possible? HALP!

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. I will begin to play as a Desert Druid saturday and i was preparing myself when i red both spells again and HOLY MOLY it seems amazing! *.* But i'm asking here because maybe it will get people mad at the table.

Mold Earth (Cantrip) 1 action
If theres loose earth, you can excavate 5ft cube and put it 5 feet away.
You can change shapes, color or both to appear on the dirt or stone.
You can turn a 5ft area into dificul terrain for 1hour. Only three of these are possible.

Now, Dust Devil (2nd lvl spell) duration 1 min concentration, 1d8 dmg to ppl nearby, bonus action to keep and move 30ft.
"If the dust devil moves over sand, dust, loose dirt, or small gravel, it sucks up the material and forms a 10-foot-radius cloud of debris around itself that lasts until the start of your next turn. The cloud heavily obscures its area".

So, heres the thing: can i dig earth on dungeons, keep a cloud of debris and use the holes as a cover? Or even as holes and difficult terrains while i blind some punks? What do you guys think?

It all hinges on the term "loose earth".

Is the floor in the dungeon "loose earth" or is it compacted earth, solid rock, or some other dense substance?

Oh this is where the title goes?
There doesn't seem to be anything keeping you from using these spells together. It doesn't seem like a synergy so much as they are both good in situations where you have loose earth around.

When you are in an area of loose earth, you should be able to use Mold Earth to make a small bulwark and get cover. Of course it might be possible for an opponent to move to a position where the bulwark isn't in the way. And if you climb down into a hole they could move up close and see you.

Mad_Jack The clause about "loose dirt" basically means this combo is restricted to outdoor areas.

Probably the best use of this combo -assuming you have ample time to prepare - would be to use the cantrip to dig some shallow pits with the pile of dirt on the side closer to the enemy... Then use it again to turn other areas inbetween them into difficult terrain. Optimally, when the enemy arrives, you can harass them with the dust devil while they advance toward you, backing up the devil as they come closer, and when it gets to your pre-dug pits it kicks up a cloud of dust to make them even harder to get past.
Assuming your other party members have some area effects or other means of laying down damage that isn't inconveniences by the obscurement, you can slow down the enemy and make them eat a couple turns of damage without being able to hit you back.
